Owners should bargain for more team friendly buyout provisions..... Getting 2/3rds for the length of the deal when the player is clearly not performing is crazy... Let the players keep the term length, make getting out of the contract cheaper for owners if the player falls off a cliff performance wise

Every time we have a lockout its to save the owners from themselves, then their GM's figure out how to beat the system in order to do the things that the lockout was supposed to prevent.
Teams should be allowed a buyout a year that doesnt count against the cap or something. But besides that, the fans shouldn't suffer to keep the owners from hurting themselves.
